So, a few weeks ago was my Birthday (April 29th) when i was asked what i wanted i replied with a simple, surprise me. Which she did by getting me nothing However this Friday and Saturday gone, several parcels arrived from america with some rather amazing contents.
So what’s in the box! Not everything sadly, there was a few volumes missing that should be arriving in the next day or so. Though Yen Press have broken my heart, the Log Horizon and No Game No Life novels won’t be coming as they’re out of stock. So now i’ve got to try and recover the funds from america, so i can buy them here in the UK. Need to sit down with the missus and explain she should only buy from america under certain circumstances, and never for new releases.
So, first off we have a LOAD of CLAMP love:
Glamour has two meanings: the modern one of style, and the ancient one of sorcery. Tokyo Babylon is the realm of both! It’s 1991, the last days of Japan’s bubble economy, and money and elegance run through the streets like rivers of neon. So do the currents of darkness beneath them – obsession, greed, and exploitation, nourishing evil spirits that only the arts of the onmyoji – Japan’s legendary occultists – can combat. The two most powerful remaining onmyoji are in the unlikely guises of a handsome young veterinarian, Seishiro, and the teenage heir to the ancient Sumeragi clan, Subaru – just a couple of guys who Subaru’s sister Hokuto has decided are destined to be…a couple!
Kamui Shiro is a young man followed by mystery. Taken from Tokyo by his mother when only a child, Kamui left behind his dearest friends—the gentle Kotori and her brother Fuma—in the aftermath of a terrible incident that claimed their mother’s life. Returning to Tokyo after his mother’s death, Kamui is a changed young man—moody and distant to his old friends, yet determined to protect them from the dark forces that swirl around him. For he is the nexus of a great cataclysm to come, and inheritor to a strange destiny that could decide the fate of the entire world.
These are sadly rebuys, i originally had these at launch, but they were stolen with our lugage when we went on holiday. Really nice to have them all back, especially since i hadn’t had a chance to read them previously.
Junior-high student Misaki Suzuhara has just arrived in Tokyo to live with her glamorous TV news star aunt and to attend the prestigious Eriol Academy. But what excites her above everything is Angelic Layer, the arena game where you control an Angel—a miniature robot fighter whose moves depend on your mind!
Misaki’s small, just like her Angel, Hikaru (named after her favorite manga, Magic Knight Rayearth), but her natural battle skills have been recognized by a very odd scientist, Ichiro “Icchan†Mihara. Before she knows it, Misaki is an up-and-coming contender in Angelic Layer . . . and in way over her not-very-tall head! How far can enthusiasm take her in an arena full of much more experienced fighters . . . and a game full of secrets . . . ?
Some people buy their personal computers based on style . . . and in near-future Japan, the hottest style for your “persocom“ is shaped like an attractive android! Poor student Hideki, fresh off the farm and trying to get into a Tokyo university, has neither money nor a girlfriend — then finds a persocom seemingly discarded in an alley. Taking the cute robot home and activating it, Hideki finds her affectionate, but amnesiac, able only to say the word “Chi” — and so he names her.
But who is this strange new persocom in his life? Instead of being his digital assistant, Hideki finds himself having to teach Chi how to get along in the everyday world, even while he and his friends try to solve the mystery of her origins. Is she one of the urban-legendary Chobits — persocoms built to have the riskiest functions of all: real emotions, and free will?Â
Kudo Kazehaya’s name evokes the wind, which is given to warn him that one day he, too, might disappear. He almost thought his time had come—until he was rescued by the dark, handsome, and equally mysterious Himura Rikuo. Now they both reside where Rikuo works, the Green Drugstore, a place that dispenses not only medicine but the secret powers of both Rikuo and Kazehaya, as the pair embark on missions into the paranormal at the bidding of its strange proprietor, Kakei.
Next along we have my Viz titles (Just a FYI X/1999 is from Viz, all the other Clamp is from Dark Horse Manga),
One day, Haruhi, a scholarship student at exclusive Ouran High School, breaks an $80,000 vase that belongs to the “Host Club,” a mysterious campus group consisting of six super-rich (and gorgeous) guys. To pay back the damages, she is forced to work for the club, and it’s there that she discovers just how wealthy the boys are and how different they are from everybody else.
Dog’s Bullets & Carnage vol 0-7
Badou’s in trouble again. He’s found some of the “Lost Children,” rare genetic experiments left from the past–but so has the mafia. It’s up to Heine to bail him out, but the Stray Dog has his own problems now that the enigmatic Giovanni is back on the scene. Meanwhile, Naoto comes to the Underground searching for the killer who wields the same strange black sword as hers. And so their paths begin to converge in the dark and dangerous heart of the city…
Next it’s Seven Seas Entertainment:
