Ryu’s Bites – Returning to Star Wars the Old Republic

I left SWtOR a few months after the last expansion came out, with a lot of satisfaction. The one thing that BioWare have always been good at telling stories, and that’s what they did. Old Republic was an amazing single player game, but a lacklustre multiplayer game.

I’d pretty much moved on from the game and was not planning on returning, until I saw the new trailer (below). Watching that, and reading the info provided on the game got my urging to play again. Then when I saw the perks for subscribing in the few months to the launch, I immediately re-upped!

As you can see BioWare really did an awesome trailer, this has me drooling so much over the upcoming expansion!

So let’s take a peek at what’s happening, starting with the perks.

1) From now to launch you can get 12x EXP from story missions. This means you can level up all the way to max level just following the story. You don’t have to do side missions flashpoints or operations. Personally I both love and hate it, but it’s an amazing way to quickly level up to be ready to play the new content.

2) You get a different ‘reward’ for each month you’re subscribed between July 31^st and August 31^st, they are:

a. July 31^st Nico Okarr companion

b. August 31^st Nico Okarr blaster set

c. September 30^th Nico Okarr duster coat

d. October 19^th Swoop bike

e. For those that maintain their subscription between July 31^st to October 19^th get a bonus prize, early access to the expansion.

3) The story looks huge, with 16 chapters in all. I’m looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds.

For the first time in a long while I’m eagerly looking forward to playing an MMO again! Something I’ve not been for a long time!
